 Newspaper Notices

Many families like to put a newspaper notice in the local newspaper in the area. If there are family and friends in other parts of New Zealand or the world you may which to place an ad in their local paper.  If you are having a private farewell you may wish to place a notice notifying that your loved one has died.

Newspaper Notices

The traditional way to advise friends and extended family of the death of your loved one is by placing a death notice in newspapers in areas where they lived and worked.

Generally speaking, other death notices which may be placed by close friends and family will not be accepted by the newspaper until the primary notice has been delivered to them by the funeral home. This is done to avoid mistaken information which may cause confusion or fraudulent notices which may cause distress.

When you place your funeral notice into the local paper Aoraki Funeral Services will place a notice in The Timaru Courier at no charge to you.
