You can have a choice if to use a celebrant, clergy or family member to officiate a funeral or memorial. There are many things to consider, the wishes of the deceased and family as well as the size and type of ceremony. We have included some aspects you can consider when making a decision.

Choosing a CelebrantIf your loved one did not follow a particular religion or was not interested in cultural rituals, they may wish to choose to have a celebrant conduct the funeral service.
We have a number of wonderful celebrants we have worked with and can put you in touch with them. You can then discuss with them the type of service you would like and they can create the ceremony that you ask for. |
Many religious organisations have very specific rituals surrounding death. They have particular steps that must be taken and rites that must be observed.
Our Funeral Director, on your behalf, can contact the local priest, minister or other religious or cultural leader, asking them to officiate at or contribute their knowledge to the funeral service. We will liaise with them regarding their particular requirements. |
