What choices do you have about where to hold the service? The venue you choose will impact the type of funeral service you will have for your loved one. If they belonged to a particular culture or faith, you might decide to have this reflected in the funeral venue. For example, if they were Maori, you could choose to have their service at a Marae. If they were Catholic, several Catholic churches offer Funeral Mass.

Funeral Venues

Other options include hosting the funeral at your home or a place of special significance to the deceased.

You can have a funeral at your or the deceased home or garden, on the family farm or in local clubrooms.

If you expect a very large crowd will be gathering, venues such as sporting stadiums, grandstands or Events Centres may be better suited to accommodate you.
We can help you organise this.

You may choose to use our premises at Aoraki Timaru.
We provide a modern chapel set in beautiful gardens with comfortable seating for over 200 and standing room for a similar number.

We offer fully-integrated audio-visual equipment, with four large widescreen monitors for viewing live-streaming, DVDs, video presentations and photo arrays, built-in cameras for video-taping the service and the building is fully equipped with an excellent sound system with special facilities for the hearing impaired.

If a smaller, more private service is called for, an intimate area in the funeral home or grounds can be provided. We can have this in our lounge or outside or on the lawn in various areas.
