Spending time with your loved one after their death can help family and friends come to terms with what has happened. Many people expect that visiting their loved ones will be a stressful event. They’re surprised to discover that it’s comforting to see them, knowing they’re at peace.

Visiting Your Loved OneAfter your loved one has been looked after by our staff, dressed and placed in their casket, you can come here to visit them.
Our Visiting Room is a quiet space where you can sit and think, perhaps listen to their favourite music whilst having a cup of tea. You can bring things to place in or on their casket; you can write messages, sing songs, say prayers or poems. More importantly, you can gather around them to express your own private, and personal goodbyes before the more public goodbyes will happen during their funeral service. |

Children are welcome to visit. We find that children usually accept the idea of death very well when visiting with a loved one who has died. If you prefer that your loved one comes home with you or goes to a church or marae for the few days before the funeral, we are happy to arrange this for you. |
