​Music has the power to change the way people feel. The music you choose when you’re arranging a funeral can make people sadder than they already are or can make them feel relaxed, can uplift them or even make them laugh.

Choosing the Right Music

Music is one of those things that people are usually very clear about. Families know what they like, and more importantly, they know what they don’t like. If you’re organising a funeral for someone you love, it’s essential to understand their musical preferences; after all, their funeral is about them. Selecting church music for someone who was not religious would not be serving their memory well. If the whole family liked country music, but the deceased did not, it might be best to leave the country music for some other family get-together.

Fully Integrated Sound System

We have a fully integrated sound system with speakers throughout our premises. We can play your selections from a family CD or other electronic format, or we can source selected tracks for you. We have an extensive range of music in all styles.

​If you prefer to listen to live music, we can arrange bands, musicians, organists, pipers, singers, choirs, and soloists. There are some very talented musicians in South Canterbury that we have worked with.
