  • Neighbours of the deceased (if the death occurred at home)
  • Family & friends – start with those who may need to organise travel to attend
  • Family solicitor or Executor of the Estate
  • Work colleagues, if appropriate
  • Clubs, volunteer & social organisations, if appropriate

After the Funeral

The solicitor may do this for you
  • Utility companies;                                            Telephone, mobile phone, gas & electricity suppliers to change account holder’s name or to cancel service, if no longer required.
  • Security or personal alarm supplier
  • Banks, Building Societies, Accountant
  • ​Businesses where the deceased held an account
  • ​Cancel any subscriptions
